Florida Virtual School
Seeing the florida virtual school presentation this morning was really interesting.
I like the idea of pace but it sounds like a demanding place to work. I also like the idea presented about how classrooms are being flipped and that content is taught as homework and classtime is used at increasing skill level of the students. The clip that was shown of this was interesting and the teacher was using elluminate to do this.
The presentation I saw with from the University of Tasmania was also interesting as it showed the need to stay relevant and to try and connect with students.
The most interesting thing I saw was a Virtual Book. This book turned three dimensional with the use of glasses and I think this will be an amazing development for students.
Tassie going online with currcilum
This presentation was on the history of curriculum development with computers over time. Tassie has some amazing history of getting their curriculum online and the resources made for students especially through the essential learnings.
I then had my presentation on Student Voice and though it was not attended by many it was well received.
Scootle
The last presentation I attended on day one was on how the learning objects are going to be linked to the australian curriculum. This was an interesting presentation and confusing as I am not sure why they are making a site for some states and not others expecting fuse to do the same thing.
